REE Technical Workshop - May 2019
The annual REE Technical workshop was held at the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum on May 6-7, 2019 in Ottawa. Over 45 participants from across the industry attended the workshop.
The goal of the workshop was to provide our stakeholders with an update on the CMIN-led R&D work through Year 4 (2018-2019) of the program. Bryan Tisch (CMIN) set the stage by reviewing some of the key highlights from the last workshop held in Dec 2018. After the opening remarks from Magdi Habib (CMIN) and Ian London (CREEN), the REE companies were invited to a corporate panel where they discussed the progress of their project and their R&D priorities. It was followed by five sessions of technical presentations, on: Solubility & Reaction Mechanisms, Physical Separation, Acid Bake & Leach, Environment, and Purification & Separation. A plenary discussion at the end of the workshop helped identified the technical gaps that CMIN should address in the remaining two years of the program.
The full workshop report including all the presentations is now available in the Technical Workshop Report folder under the R&D tab.
