KWG expands patent protection for gas reduction technology

KWG moves forward on global patent protection by undertaking the National Phase of its gas reduction patent claim with filings in key ferrochrome-producing countries: Canada, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, and USA. According to Barnes et al., 2015 a techno-economic study on the new process identifies a reduction in overall energy consumption of 80 per cent against conventional processing and approximately 40 per cent lower than the current best practice.
